Jina Jung

Evoking the infinitely transformative aspects of the natural world with her restrained technique, Jina Jung (b.1990, Korea) hovers between figuration and abstraction. The way the temporality of a landscape is expressed in color while the reflective quality of water becomes negative space, and the composition of curves and planes created by the gesture of the wrist are all vaguely reminiscent of natural objects. By following these tenuous but ultimately uninterrupted lines and planes, the viewer experiences the flow and properties of nature via the artist's gaze.
