Michael Polakowski

Based in Detroit, Michael Polakowski(b.1994, USA) has exhibited in Vermont Johnson, LA, Brussels, Tokyo, Paris, Eindhoven, Knokke, Ostend, New York, Amsterdam, Anaheim, Hong Kong, Miami, London, Portland, etc. His work has been published in New American Painting, Juxtapoz, Booooooom, Saint Maison, and Art Maze. He is currently working as an artist and creating murals, including in residence and as an adjunct professor in Detroit and Vermont Johnson. His work is a transcendental painting mixed with dreamlike images. In recording scenes with inexplicable emotional weight, a sense of rhythm and emphasis is given by combining the invisible with unrealistic colors, shapes, and textures and placing them in extreme juxtaposition on a single screen. The appropriate balance of lightness and heaviness implies the lightness of the primary image and the not-so-simple narrative that runs through it.
