Woo Byoung yun

Woo Byoung yun (b. 1988, Korea) dramatises very different sides of nature by treating the works closer to a ritual rather than a representation. The conflicting procedure of constant accumulation of multiple layers of plaster and colors and scraping off of it in the form of lines is a combination of painting and sculpture. The overlapping screen reflects the artist’s intention and reveals itself to create a single surface where the action and unreal entity of nature coexist simultaneously. It raises questions for the viewers to sense the interconnected universe as it is.
